Inauguration of the Silver Jubilee Year
It is to our satisfaction that this year we are starting the 25th year of our Institutions in Mugalivakkam. Therefore we had a very grand celebration of the inauguration of the silver Jubilee of our institution on Saturday 6th April 2024.
The inauguration of the silver Jubilee celebration of the press and the other institutions in the campus was celebrated on Saturday 6th April 2024 with a solemn High Mass. The procession comprised of employees from all the departments ie Press along with the sisters and Rev. Fathers started at 5.30 p.m. from the convent Hall to the stage in front of the Housing unit.
Rev. Father Jesu SVD, Parish Priest, St. Xavier's Church, Madha Nagar, Chennai. was the main celebrant and concelebrants were Rev. Father Lazar SVD, Rector SVD House St. Thomas Mount, Rev. Father James, SVD. Professor, SVD Seminary, St. Thomas Mount, and Rev. Father Solomon, CRS Jerome Illam, Kolappakam Road, Chennai - 600 125.
Rev. Sisters were present in good number, FSJ Sisters from various Communities in and around Chennai, St. Ann's Sisters, Madhanathapuram, DMI Sisters from Kovur, Fathima Sisters from Chrompet along with customers from various schools and other institutions and companies were present.
Mr. Selvendira, Ward Councilor, Mugalivakkam and Dr. Claud who was instrumental in getting the land registered in 1995 graced the occasion.
Rev. Mother Arockiam, The Superior General, was unable to be present in the celebration but Sr. Christurani, The Assistant General along with Sr. Arul Mary, Councilor and Sr. Celia, General Procurator were present for the programme.
Welcome song was sung by Mr. Sudharsan and Mrs. Sumathy. Mr. Sudharsan, our Production Manager gave the welcome address and the guests were invited to the stage. Rev Fathers Jesu SVD., Lazar SVD and James SVD, Rev. Christu Rani, Rev. Sr. Celia, Rev. Sr. Arul Mary Councilor, Rev. Sr. Theophila.
Rev. Sr. K. Theresa The Silver Jubilarian were invited to the stage and all of them were honored. Unveiling the 25th Year Logo and cutting the cake was done by Rev. Father Jesu SVD and Sr. Chritu Rani, Asst. Superior General.
Mr. Selvendiran, our Ward councilor praised the performance of our press and the dispensary. Due to his election duties he left the place soon after his speech.
Sister Prudentia presented a short report on the history of this place and the various developmental achievements were presented on the screen. A short Cultural Programme was presented by the children in the campus and it was organized by Sr. Jaya Sutha. There were four dances and these dances entertained the audience.
Sr. Christu Rani presented the felicitation address which was very genuine and full of admiration for our work here.
Voice of gratitude was proposed by Mr. Kirubakaran Press Manager on behalf of the press. He thanked the management for paying salary to the staff during Corona which lasted almost three years. The business suffered everywhere the world and number of small businesses were closed down due to the impact the corona but by God's Grace we were able to sustain it.
Our customers and our vendors were presented small mementos and dinner was served to everyone present. It was a pleasant evening with lots of satisfying and encouraging words from everyone present.
